NASELLE — Jacob Eaton grabbed nine offensive rebounds and scored 23 points, including six put-backs and a pair of three-pointers, leading Naselle to a 78-32 victory over Mary M. Knight Tuesday, Dec. 18.

Naselle went on a 46-13 run the last 13 minutes of the first half to take a 52-21 lead.

Eaton started that run with a three-pointer that put the Comets ahead 9-8. The game was still close at 16-13 after a three-pointer by Knight’s Dylan Ralph. But Naselle’s Ethan Lindstrom took off on that made basket and scored a fast-break bucket. Lindstrom, who finished with 15 points, continued to push the pace and score on the break, and the Comets led 27-13 after a quarter.

In the second quarter, the Comets kept it up. Cole Dorman stole a pass, then threaded his own pass through defenders to Lindstrom for a 38-17 lead. After an Antonio Nolan three-pointer, Dorman came up with another steal, flying out of bounds and saving it to Eaton, who found Corey Gregory behind the defense to make it 43-17 midway through the quarter.

Gregory’s third-quarter steal and score extended the lead to 40. He followed with a leaping interception of a deep pass, and capitalized again with a bucket to make it 63-21. With the running clock on, Naselle cruised the rest of the way.
