SW football teams not doing very well in state playoffsTACOMA - Sixteen teams from District 4 (Southwest Washington) began the state football playoff in the five size classifications in the Washington State Football Championships.

By the time that the teams enter the semifinals which are being played this Thanksgiving weekend in the Tacoma Dome, in Kennewick, or in Pasco, there are only three Southwest District teams still playing.

Class 4A Evergreen of Vancouver will play Pasco in Pasco; Class 2A LaCenter will play number one ranked Meridian in the Tacoma Dome; and Class B-11 Wahkiakum will play number one DeSales in Kennewick. All of the other 13 Southwest Washington District teams have been eliminated, either losing in the first round or in the quarterfinal round.

The 13 SW District teams that have been eliminated from the playoffs include: 4A Mt. View; 3A Columbia River and Camas; 2A Elma, Hoquiam and Ridgefield; 1A Onalaska, White Pass, Adna and Kalama; B-11 Willapa Valley; and B-8 Taholah and Lake Quinault.
