Comets finish fourth in league cross country meet

WESTPORT - The Naselle cross country team finished fourth in the northern half of the Southwest Washington 1A/B League Northern Division boys cross country championship meet held at Ocosta High School Thursday, Oct. 24.

The Comets scored 109 points to finish fourth. Northwest Christian ran away with the boys title with a near perfect 18 points.

The Comets were led by Takumi Sato who finished 16th in 18:44. The other five point-scoring Comets included: Nate Moore (19th, 18:59), Cory Teubner (21st, 19:19), Zach Badger (26th, 19:55), and Evan Hendrickson (27th, 19:58).

The other Naselle runners included: Ryan Nortrup (34th, 21:21), Keegan MacGuire (35th, 21:33), Brandon Wirkkala (36th, 21:34), Brian Beaulaurier (41st, 22:19), Aoy Marion (42nd, 23:09), and Nick Kato (43rd, 30:11).

The Comets will run in the district meet to be held on the Niawakum Golf Course in Chehalis this Thursday.

Comets regrouping for season's last games

NASELLE - The Naselle Comets football team had the week off this week, with a bye. They will be back in action this Friday, Nov. 1, when they entertain the Pe Ell Trojans on Rueben Penttila Field.
