TACOMA - The Tacoma Dome will be the site of the high school football state championships this Friday and Saturday as six titles will be up for grabs.
Friday at 4 p.m. Jubilee Christian of Prescott will take on LaCrosse-Washtucna in the B-8 game. L-C won an early season match up 46-0.
At 7:30 Bellevue, who has allowed only nine points in three playoff games, will go after a record-tying third consecutive 3A championship against perennial power O'Dea.
Saturday's 10 a.m. contest features Meridian, who eked out a 28-26 win over upstart LaCenter, against Pullman for the 2A crown. At 1 p.m. Arch bishop Murphy, winners of 25 straight, will do battle with the 12-0 Zillah Leopards for 1A supremacy. At 4 the B-11 title game also features two undefeated teams, DeSales and Reardan in a classic match up between a private versus public school. DeSales shellacked Cathlamet 41-6 in the semi-finals.
The final contest pits Pasco against Ballard in an east-west battle for the 4A state championship. The 3A game on Friday and 4A tussle Saturday will be televised on Fox Sports Northwest for those who choose not to sit through six football games in 30 hours at the Dome.
