Three local high school graduates had outstanding basketball years for their respective colleges in the season just completed.
Former Fisherman James Fritts, playing for California Baptist University, played in 32 games and started 21. He was fourth in scoring (9.8 ppg.), rebounds, and steals and Fritts was second on the team in assists.
Nora Darcher of Naselle played at Carengie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and averaged almost 2 points per game. In a recent game she scored 14 points on 5-9 from the field and 4-4 from the line against the University of Chicago.
Heather Hocking went from last year's Lady Fishermen team to St. Martin's College. She played in 10 games and averaged nearly a point per game.
