ILWACO/NASELLE — Everybody loves a little snow, except when planning for games and tournaments.

A decent snowfall early Friday morning led to the cancellation of nine home and away games and tournaments for both Ilwaco and Naselle high schools Friday, Saturday and Tuesday.

Both the Naselle girls and boys basketball teams were scheduled to compete at a tournament in Warrenton both days, but chose to withdraw due to road conditions.

The same goes for the Ilwaco boys and girls basketball teams, which were scheduled to travel to Castle Rock for a Trico League doubleheader.

The Lady Fishermen also had their non-league game with Astoria on Saturday cancelled.

The Ilwaco wrestling team withdrew from a tournament they were set to travel to in Westport on Saturday morning.

Monday games with Woodland for Ilwaco were moved to Tuesday, while the Naselle girls game at Pe Ell Tuesday was moved to Thursday.

The Castle Rock games being the only league games cancelled, are likely the only games to be rescheduled later in the season.
