CHEHALIS - Jessica Ziemer was leading the District IV field after the front nine holes with a 46 and was currently in third place after 18 holes with a 102 score at Riverside Golf Club Monday. The district tournament wrapped Tuesday with another 18 holes of golf at Riverside. Final results will be reported next week.

Jenna Lee was tied for seventh place with a round of 118 and Amanda Schisler also made the cut and was in 16th position after the first day. Melanie Hodge of LaCenter was the leader with a 97 and Alyssa Hartman was in second place with a 100.

The top five girls qualify for the state 1A golf tournament to be held May 25 and 26 at Columbia Point Golf Club in Richland.

Miranda Sonntag and Brooke Weir did not make the cut. Ziemer played a remarkable round as she was seeded somewhere in the top eight to 10 players coming into the tournament based upon her regular season scores. Competition began at 10:30 a.m. when Schisler teed off and continued for 18 holes and the top five girls' scores for the combined 36 holes determined who earned berths to state.
